In The Outer Worlds, you awake from hibernation on a colonist ship that was lost in transit to Halcyon, the furthest colony from Earth located at the edge of the galaxy, only to find yourself in the midst of a deep conspiracy threatening to destroy it. As you explore the furthest reaches of space and encounter various factions, all vying for power, the character you decide to become will determine how this player-driven story unfolds. In the corporate equation for the colony, you are the unplanned variable.

ReplyThis looks amazing. Of course it is multiplatform since this was started before the Microsoft acquisition. The sequels to this game if they ever happen will be Xbox and Windows 10 exclusive.

• Your protagonist isn’t voiced
Reply• There’s a special class of “science weapons” that will have special, ridiculous effects, like a shrink ray
• As in the creators’ past games, you can play as a “dumb” character with stupid dialogue options. Your companions react appropriately
• there’s never just a single path through a mission, but always the golden trifecta: fighting, talking, and sneaking
• Your ship will serve as a home base for you and your companions, much like Mass Effect’s Normandy. You’ll be able to chat with them and pick up companion quests, as they all have their own reasons for tagging along with you
• hunger-suppressing toothpaste
• the developers came up with a “time dilation” mechanic akin to Fallout’s VATS
• There’s a degree of level scaling on enemies, but within limits
• A different article mentioned a S.P.E.C.I.A.L like system with a different acronym

ReplyI honestly think this game has the potential to be a massive hit. Maybe not this game but a sequel or a third instalment of this new franchise could overtake fallout’ s and become one of the most iconic franchises this generation.
