The quickest way to reach level 20 and also to farm Exotic Engrams is to do public events. The best method is complete a heroic public event and fast travel back to the nearest fast travel point to the event you just completed. When you fast travel, you load into a different instance of the world and if the event is still ongoing, you can hop in at the very end to get easy xp and loot. Once you reach rank 20, exotic engrams can drop. You can also reach Power Level 265 quickly from just the blue gear that drops.
Pop a Fireteam Medallion prior to farming to gain faster xp and loot.

ReplyCan we plese have a useful tutorial like how to surpass Power level 280+ not how to fricking get to level 20, eveyrone’s level 20 already u just play the game wtf
ReplyOnce you complete the story you get boosted to level 20 automatically by talking to the 3 main NPCs.
ReplyWhen leveling a new character, you will get powered to level 20 upon completing the story and talking to all the characters, so it isn’t necessary to do this at all unless you need to meet the level requirements of certain destinations.
ReplyI actually done this method by accident and it does work greatly. Figured going in solo while spamming the same location spawn will get you a chance to be with other randoms and nab you a public event.
